SOULBASE is an independent, interview-format print and online lifestyle magazine, made by creatives for creatives. It has a focus on art, interior, style, photography and more. It elevates voices and stories, connects people to each other and creates a place where people can have a “SOULBASE moment” – a place to reset and be inspired.
To read SOULBASE is to take time for yourself and take joy in the written word.
Founder Annika Bielig-Bussmann is the creator behind SOULBASE. Over 10 years ago, she emigrated from Germany to Portland, Oregon in the Pacific Northwest where she lives with her husband, son and dog, Fleur. In the States, she traded her career as a nutritional coach for a career with her camera. As an artistic project, she interviewed and photographed 16 humans that, instead of being glossed over, told raw stories. Such a project was something she had been missing in other media, and the way it resonated was moving. The project was translated to print, and in 2019, when the first self-financed edition was published. SOULBASE became a reality.
The print magazine, published annually, is designed as a high-quality book with a sleek, calm aesthetic and room for vibrant pictures. At www.soulbasemag.me, readers can find monthly interviews, interior inspiration, artist features, free downloadable artwork, columns on topics like mental health, style and living abroad and so much more.SOULBASE gives a platform to humans for their creative work and prolific achievements.
