Since EAT.PRAY.MOVE began, our vision has always been to explore YOGA as CONNECTION. We find that the best way to do this is to connect not only on the mat, but also through various other activities that can enhance one’s full experience on a retreat. Besides day trips, spa treatments, tastings, and other cultural activities during our days, each retreat features 2 classes on most days as well: one of yoga and depending on the itinerary category you choose, one of something else (meditation, travel-journal creation, hiking, food, wine tasting, life-coaching workshops, tea-ceremony, etc) Read below to find out which one connects to you!
CLASSIC - [ yoga ]
On our CLASSIC yoga retreats, we usually have two yoga classes a day - we do a general vinyasa flow in the morning about 60-75’ and enjoy an evening class which is more restorative or themed (hips, heart-openers) for around 45’. There are various meditation times throughout the week with about 15m guidance of various methods and encouragement to take any free-time to explore further on your own if you wish.
This of course, is mixed with daily activities such as daytrips, tours, tastings, spa treatments & more - so you can enjoy a balanced holiday filled with adventure, relaxation, & renewal.
FORM+FOCUS - [ yoga & CREATIVITY ]
Our FORM+FOCUS retreats combine yoga and creativity to give you a new look into a mindful holiday. Daily yoga/meditation classes prepare our bodies and minds, while the creative classes, in collaboration with Julian Hyzler from EASEL&LENS, give us a unique way to really see and look at the new sites around us. We create amazing travel journals through the week, using various artistic methods like watercolor, sketching, photography (smartphone photography is recommended), and even writing and collecting articles for our books. Guests take home a beautiful memory of the trip.
We have one yoga class and one art class per day. *NO PREVIOUS ART OR YOGA BACKGROUND REQUIRED. All levels are welcome, and participation is voluntary. Projects and classes will be offered as a completely exploratory, non-intimidating and personal experience.
FORM+FLAVORS - [ yoga, walking, & food ]
Join us for our newest addition, the 'FORM+FLAVORS RETREAT" - our combination of a YOGA + FOOD retreat. "FORM" - Besides a daily yoga class, we will also enjoy many walks around the breathtaking scenery of the location, a walking meditation, and even scenic hikes. "FLAVORS" - We'll not only balance the week with the healthy "form" part of the retreat, but also with learning about and experiencing firsthand the amazing flavors of this region. Each day we'll be able to enjoy mouth-watering cuisine, as well as take part in tastings from the location - from wine and olive oil, to cheeses, pastries, and lemons. From award-winning restaurants to family farms and kitchens, learning and enjoying the food will be an added bonus to working up an appetite during our classes and walks!

MINDFUL MOVEMENT - [ yoga & meditation ]
Our MINDFUL MOVEMENT retreats are facilitated by EPM’s collaborator, Jen Carter. Jen holds advanced yoga and meditation instructor certifications from New York City yoga studios Pure Yoga, Yoga Vida, and It’s Yoga based in San Francisco. She also maintains a daily meditation practice, and she views her purpose in life is to share the beauty and ease of that practice. Jen’s classes are crafted to challenge her students but also to make it easy for them to incorporate both asana and meditation into their daily lives back at home. She sees EAT.PRAY.MOVE as an amazing opportunity to explore new lands and culture while simultaneously exploring new levels within. On these retreats there is usually one full yoga class and one full meditation class per day.
RITUAL+RENEWAL - [ yoga & tea ceremony ]
These retreats are located in soulful destinations where local culture is steeped in tea. Using the ceremony of tea as a guide, we explore the power of ritual to renew body, mind and spirit. During daily workshops, guests will create their own personal ritual to inspire a ceremonious lifestyle, one of presence, peace and joy, at home. You will leave with a rare, ceremonial or hand-blended tea from the region, your own personal tea ritual and a renewed appreciation for life’s simple pleasures!
Highlights of Ritual + Renewal:
Daily yoga: Morning Vinyasa and/or evening Yin Yoga
Create your own tea ritual
Experience Tea Ceremony in the local tradition
Get to know tea intimately, from harvest and manufacture to blending and steeping
Tea making or blending workshop, depending on the location
These soulful itineraries are led by Sarah Scarborough of Tea Huntress, who has devoted the last a twenty years of her life to discovering the history, agriculture and culture of tea. She has followed tea’s journey around the world to learn the ancient traditions of tea and source high vibrational, ancient and ceremonial varieties. As a registered yoga teacher, she offers yin, restorative and vinyasa classes. Join her to combine the soul and ceremony of tea with daily yoga as well as learning how to infuse daily ritual into your life.
VINO+VINYASA - [yoga & wine certification]
Besides daily yoga classes, our VINO+VINYASA retreats offer another way to fully experience your time on the retreat - by engaging your senses and your mind in a WSET Wine Certification Course. The globally recognized WSET (Wine & Spirit Educational Trust) course is led by award-winning sommelier and wine-writer, Emily O'Hare. This beginner level introduction is a perfect way for anyone interested in wine to take their interest further, experience stimulating classes and on-site visits to producers.
