If you have been following us for a while, you know that as a part of our Give Back program, we sponsor a student through the Croatian Scholarship Fund. Our scholarship funds all go to one particular student, Erika, who is just the best source of inspiration and joy to our team. She updates us from time to time on her life, and she is the embodiment of what we believe adds up to a full life.
She spent the summer working around Croatia. “Firstly, Poreč. Such a beautiful place, people, weather, guests, staff, nature, sea, children, food... I can go on till tomorrow. Maybe you remember, I was there two years ago and it was a great experience for me. I met some people with who I had a great time and it was a pleasure to see them again and to talk about things that maybe have changed from that time, “ she says.
“After one month in Poreč, I went to a wonderful island named Rab. It was my first time there, and I fell in love with the place at first sight. Yeah, I do believe in love at first sight. If you feel it, that's it, no doubts. Cricket sounds every morning, the best sign that nature is still alive. I enjoyed it, and I was calm inside.
Now, I am in Zagreb and I am learning some subjects because I have exams these days at Uni. When I finish them this month, I will be in the fourth year. I am also going to the gym every day and trying to eat clean. I passed the traffic rules and emergency medicine exam, and now I am driving a car with the instructor 2 times per week.”
Spending time in nature, connecting with friends, giving back teaching to children, being active and eating fresh food—Erika really understands how to fill her life with things that will fill her cup. We are so grateful to have a window into what she’s up to. Thanks, Erika!
