Erica - our GiveBack recipient for the Croatian Scholarship Fund
It is our pleasure to introduce you to our Give Back recipient Erika, a 19-year old student from Zagreb, Croatia. EAT.PRAY.MOVE will have the honor of sponsoring Erika’s studies at Teachers’ University through our partnership with the Croatian Scholarship Fund. Their mission is to help educate young and bright economically challenged Croatian women and men who would someday become future leaders in education, medicine, agriculture, transportation, technology, economics, law, engineering, political science, and other academic fields. It is our privilege to sponsor this bright and driven young woman and we look forward to following and sharing her academic journey with our readers.
Get to know Erika:
Erika is a 19-year old student who has embarked on a 5-year program at Teachers’ University in Zagreb, the capital and largest city of the Republic of Croatia. Her desire to become a teacher came at a young age, recalling a supportive teacher she looked to as role model. It is her intention to work with young children, providing the same positive influence her teacher bestowed on her. It is important to Erika to share not only the importance of an education with her students, but the importance of living a life with purpose, respect for others, appreciation for all life has to offer, and above all else, live an informed life with tolerance and an open heart.
Erika is an adventurous spirit, with diverse interests, and is always open to experiencing new things. When she’s not studying, you’ll find Erika playing volleyball, rowing for her university team, or acting in a local play. She hasn’t practiced yoga yet, but hopes to one day. Perhaps at an EAT.PRAY.MOVE retreat. Erika speaks confidently of big plans for her future and we’re certain she’ll achieve them.
