Experience our newest adventure: "Urban Oasis" mini city retreat! Get to know NYC with yoga, meditation, luxurious spa treatments, unique city experiences, and mouth-watering healthy cuisine. Find the calm in the chaos!
We're so excited to announce EAT.PRAY.MOVE's new category of Mini City Retreats! The first one kicks off in our hometown, and one of the world's most fabulous city of New York!
Our "Urban Oasis" mini city retreat will combine the same vibe of the full EPM retreats as a balanced wellness holiday with experiences for the senses. These new mini holidays give guests flexibility : the opportunity to combine with a longer vacation in the city, the option to choose lodging preferences, locations, and price-ranges, and the ease of travel to/from. Plus, some free time will be allotted each day so those who would like to see the famous tourist sites of the city can fit in time to do so. And our challenge and adventure will be to find the "calm in the chaos" of the hustle and bustle of the city life - which we'll do with carefully curated events in the "secret", quiet, serenity spaces that the city offers to those who know where to look!
Each day is about introducing the guests to a new area of the city, a different location to experience yoga + meditation daily, plus luxurious spa treats to pamper and balance, unique city experiences on mixology, ayurveda, and amazing aerial vinyasa, as well as mouth-watering healthy cuisine from the world-famous restaurants and chefs that this city has to offer! Explore world-class spa treatments in 5-star locales, visit an underground "prohibition-era" speakeasy, as well as explore the trails in the city's most famous oasis - Central Park.
We'll be visiting various parts of Manhattan so guests can get a nice overview of the neighborhoods and the sense of the unique offerings of each, while combining healthful, pampering, and tasty adventures. Walking is a major part of life for New Yorkers and is a great way to see and experience the city, so on a couple of occasions we'll be walking from one event to the next (although not too far). Plus, we'll challenge our senses by trying a walking meditation here to help balance the chaos and the calm!
Healthful, vegetarian food is part of the retreat experience, and we've carefully selected those restaurants and chefs which will help bring the experience to life for our guests. Not only will we get to eat tasty meals, but we'll also have the chance to learn more about healthful preparation with several demos and classes. Our time in NYC will range from farm-to-table, organic cuisine, and ethnic tradition experience in one of the city's vibrant neighborhoods, to cocktails overlooking the rooftops and fresh pressed juices in a luxurious spa.
Daily meditation and yoga classes will be offered in a way to relax, stimulate, and help guests grow in their own personal practice. Classes are open to all levels, beginner to practiced, and can range from gentle, restorative, and more vigorous vinyasa flow and ashtanga styles.* Style and class levels will be determined and moulded to fit participating students' needs, and with a small intimate retreat class size, students will be able to get personalized attention and comfortability to deeply explore their practice. Depending on each retreat location, classes will be held in a dedicated indoor yoga space and some also offer outdoor options as well for us to use if the weather is agreeable.
Certified yoga instructor and EPM founder, Erin Lewis, will facilitate the classes, helping each student focus on improving their practice and gaining new insights into their bodies and movements. She's studied various types of yoga disciplines since 1998, concentrating on the Ashtanga discipline since 2008. She received her teacher certification in Florence, Italy and has continued her education with various specialty certifications throughout the years. She now combines powerful movements with more anatomical-based core vinyasa flow and restorative movement in her personal practice and teaching style.
* Participation in classes and activities is optional throughout the retreat. All levels welcome!
